Making waves with Baystream
A little club like ours can make a splash

For years, the Baystream Swim Club trained in borrowed lanes, squeezed between adult classes and open swim hours. “We were a scrappy little team,” says head coach Lauren Vick. “No official kit, no timing gear - just determination and hand-me-down goggles.”
But as the junior squad began racking up local wins, the club knew it was time to level up. The only thing missing? Funding.
“Parents were tapped out,” Lauren explains. “We didn’t want to add fees or run bake sales no one had time for.”
That’s when they discovered Ev’ryday.
Baystream parents and supporters joined the shopping club and watched the funds flow in. “People couldn’t believe it,” says Lauren. “We raised $2,800 just by shopping for essentials.”
The funds meant new team swim caps, a digital timing system and private lane access for morning practices.
Now, the team is preparing for their biggest challenge yet: hosting their first Santa Clara County Invitational Meet this fall.
“It’s not just about racing,” says 14-year-old swimmer Sofia. “It’s about showing everyone how far we’ve come - and that a little club like ours can make a splash.”
